THE WHY

We have spent the last decade of our lives working in the nonprofit space and volunteering with charities and other organizations. Our focus has always been to help others and create a bigger impact. We believe that by collectively bringing together small businesses, local communities and curating events for important causes, we can make impactful change. What started off as a small passion project for one orphanage, grew into a bigger mission to do more for the world.

THE HOW

We build meaningful connections with local communities, small businesses, and nonprofit organizations. We provide ongoing donations, host charity drives, and events dedicated to giving back to people in need. In addition, we package hygiene supplies, food, and work with volunteer organizations to help repair and build up our neighborhoods and local communities in need. Our commitment is not only to our organization, but to helping other organizations and communities surrounding us.

A deeper insight to our story.

Together, we are stronger.

The purpose of Better Humanity Project is to provide opportunities for people with shared passions of helping communities in need. What started off as a small passion project grew into a bigger mission to do more for the world. We started BHP in 2019 in efforts to activate the community and bring together neighbors, small businesses, and philanthropists. We are a grassroots for benefit organization with a mission to activate our community to help our neighbors locally and around the world. In 2019, we collected holiday gifts, toys, donations, and essential supplies to local homeless shelters and an orphanage, Casa Hogar, in Tijuana through a small charity dinner we hosted with our local communities. This small event ignited our passion to expand this project to build more projects in the future. Our passion has become focused on humanitarian efforts both at home and to expand internationally.

In 2020, we had plans to curate several on-going initiatives in addition to our annual holiday charity event. However, with the uncertainty of COVID-19, we spent the time observing the world and brainstorming ways we can help make a difference. We managed to curate our annual holiday event and pivot from a physical event to a virtual benefit to activate our communities focusing on the humanitarian crisis in Yemen targeting children. We hosted a Cookies and Cocktails virtual event with a special holiday gift box available for purchase. The holiday gift boxes included many donated items from tiki mugs, recyclable straws, sunglasses, handmade masks, cookie decorating sets, and more! Through our virtual evening of festivities, we were able to share our vision for Better Humanity Project and shed light on the crisis happening in Yemen. We received generous support from local vendors, small businesses and donors to package essential supplies to children in need and raise funds targeted towards direct relief for the children in Yemen. In addition, we worked together with Acquisition Science, a 501c3 non profit organization to make it possible to raise $10,000 directly to UNICEF through this one event.

As we continue to grow each year, we aspire to work on more projects surrounding our local communities. We spent the better half of COVID-19 year learning about the world, adapting to our environment, and processing how we can continue to give back to our communities in need. We reached out to our local charities, homeless shelters, and communities to support them as well by providing supplies, food, and much needed hands on volunteer work. Our commitment is not only to our organization, but to helping other organizations and communities surrounding us. We are passionate about our communities and our neighbors around the world.

Thank you for supporting our vision and breathing life into our projects.

Love,
The Better Humanity Project
